As per a governmental directive, the School Management Committee (SMC) submitted a report detailing the infrastructural necessities of each school.
The TNSED Parent app revealed that approximately 61% of these requirements pertained to infrastructure. The State Level Monitoring Committee (SLMC) has been established in response, with the Chief Secretary to the Government serving as its Chairman.
Since the reconstitution of SMCs in 2022, over three lakh needs have been documented across 33,550 schools.
Primary schools have witnessed the highest number of SMC meetings, totaling 21,904.
The SLMC will systematically assess and address the requisites raised by the SMC, spanning categories such as infrastructure, teaching-learning, enrolment and retention, and school management.
