The Education and Skill Development Minister, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, along with Australian counterpart Hon’ble Jason Clare, MP, Government of Australia, visited the upcoming campuses of Wollongong and Deakin Universities at GIFT City, Gandhinagar. They were briefed on campus developments and plans.

At the Arambh event, marking the opening of campuses at GIFT City, the Vice-Chancellors stressed country-to-country partnerships, highlighting the growth in bilateral relations between India and Australia. Plans, including course schedules, were shared.

At the event, Shri Pradhan congratulated the student and academic fraternity, stating that foreign university campuses in India will facilitate Study In India, creating a diverse educational environment as per NEP 2020. Opening campuses in GIFT City is a 'Gift' to students, and he thanked PM Shri Narendra Modi for transforming India’s education through NEP 2020.

The transformative policy emphasizes 'Internationalization at Home,' creating a diverse and inclusive educational environment in India. In the afternoon, both Ministers addressed a conclave on 'Research Dialogue: New Horizons in Research Collaboration' to identify opportunities for deepening bilateral collaboration in research.

Shri Pradhan urged University leaders and researchers to catalyze opportunities for bilateral research collaborations between India and Australia. Research should be a priority for mutual prosperity and global well-being. The Ministers also met academicians and industry leaders on Industry Education Partnerships, discussing strengthening education-industry connections and R&D collaboration.
