"Shaping Leaders of Tomorrow" - 45 Principals Gather SRM University-AP for National Educator’s Leadership Summit 2024

In the city of Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, India, on January 12, Professor Manoj K Arora, the Vice Chancellor of SRM University-AP, emphasized the imperative collaboration between schools and universities for the advancement of students' futures. This statement was made during his presentation on Future Trends in Education at the National Educator’s Leadership Summit 2024, organized by the university on January 06-07, 2024. The two-day Educational Conclave, conducted under the auspices of the Directorate of Admissions, brought together 45 school principals from over 26 cities in India. They engaged in discussions addressing the future of national education, highlighting the necessity of holistic development, skill enhancement, and a learner-centric approach to empower students and cultivate essential skills and knowledge for their professional growth.

Professor Y Siva Sankar, the Director of Admissions at SRM University-AP, expressed that the Summit provided a dynamic platform for the exchange of ideas, sharing of best practices, and the collective formulation of strategies to implement reforms that will shape the education system of the nation.

The summit featured insightful sessions, panel discussions, and interactive lectures. On the first day, the conclave included informative sessions on Empowering Student Leadership, Raising Awareness of Emotional Intelligence in Students, Enhancing Student Entrepreneurship, Effective Classroom Management Techniques, and Challenges in Indian Education. Deans and academic leaders from the university delivered these sessions. During a discussion on present Indian education, Surajit Sen, Principal of Jharkhand Public School, emphasized the importance of students learning independently, creating ideas, and building innovations through digital literacy. He advocated for the adoption of an experiential learning approach to equip students with skills for the global world.

Discourses on Future Trends in Education and Insights from Directors of SRM University-AP, focusing on promoting Entrepreneurship, Higher Studies, and International Collaborations, took place on the final day. These discussions provided valuable insights to principals, encouraging them to implement transformative initiatives in their curriculum to foster holistic development in students.

The National Educator’s Leadership Summit concluded successfully, and participating principals were honoured with mementos as a token of gratitude for their dynamic participation in the conclave. Dr. R Premkumar, Registrar; Professor Y Siva Sankar, Director of Admissions; and Professor Vishnupad, Dean of Easwari School of Liberal Arts, presented the mementos, acknowledging the principals' efforts towards the collective cause of transforming the future of Indian education.
