On the date of Saturday, October 14, Delhi Public School, Ranchi, had the privilege of hosting a Regional Principals' Conference convened by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The primary objective of this conference was to empower and enlighten school principals with several crucial aspects pertaining to the National Education Policy of 2020.
Attendees were presented with an extensive briefing on the objectives and fundamental tenets of the newly formulated educational policy. Subsequent to this informative session, in-depth discussions were conducted concerning the ramifications of the National Education Policy of 2020 for educators, educational institutions, and students alike. The conference facilitated the dissemination of valuable insights to the attending principals, with a focus on aligning pedagogical practices within schools with the principles outlined in the NEP 2020, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the policy itself.
Distinguished dignitaries graced this occasion, with Ravi Kumar, Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy of the Jharkhand Government, presiding as the chief guest. Several other esteemed officials from the governing board, including Dr. Pragya M. Singh, Director of Academic Assessment at CBSE; Anjali Chhabra, Joint Secretary of Academic Assessment; and Al Hilal Ahmad, Joint Secretary of Academics, were also in attendance.
Speaking during the event, Secretary Ravi Kumar expressed optimism regarding the transformative potential of the new education policy in enhancing the nation's educational landscape, with the goal of fostering a brighter future for students.
During the conference, prominent educators presented various recommendations for the effective implementation of the NEP 2020. They also shed light on the endeavors of educational institutions related to multilingualism, provided an overview of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) for 2023, discussed training initiatives within the Jharkhand state, emphasized the significance of CBSE's training policy, and elucidated the efforts of CBSE toward implementing skill-based education, among other salient topics.
Kiran Kumar Pasi, the State Project Director of Jharkhand Education Project Council, underscored the significance of the CBSE Principal's Conference as a pivotal platform for comprehending the key initiatives embedded within India's new education policy. The primary objective of this conference was to enhance the holistic development of students, enhance assessment methodologies, and introduce positive alterations within the education system by embracing technology, all with the ultimate aim of ushering in a brighter future.
Praising the new education policy initiated by the central government, Kiran Kumar Pasi noted that it has instigated constructive changes within the Indian education system. Notably, it acquaints students with a diverse array of languages and artistic pursuits, allowing them to shape their careers in accordance with their individual interests.
