The Karnataka State Government Establishes a 15-Member Committee to Develop State Education Policy.

In a significant move, the Karnataka state government has formed a committee comprising experts to craft the Karnataka State Education Policy, aiming to supersede the National Education Policy (NEP). This pivotal decision was announced on Wednesday.

The government has officially issued a 'Government Order' (GO) to assemble a 15-member committee tasked with shaping the new educational policy. Additionally, eight subject matter experts and advisors have been appointed to provide specialised guidance and insight.

According to the official GO, "The government is pleased to grant approval to the State Education Policy Commission for the preparation of a preliminary draft of the Karnataka State Education Policy." Professor Sukhdev Thorat, a renowned educationist, economist, professor, writer, and former Chairman of UGC New Delhi, has been appointed as the Chairman of this crucial commission.
