India's Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, asserted that the New Education Policy (NEP) has the potential to convert human capital into global citizens. Speaking at the second edition of the Voice of Global South Summit hosted by India, Pradhan, who also oversees skill development and entrepreneurship, emphasized that the NEP could serve as a model for emerging economies aiming to formulate strategies and policies for shaping well-rounded global citizens. He stated, "NEP, seen as a philosophical document, can act as a blueprint for emerging economies to craft comprehensive strategies and adaptable policies for transforming human capital into globally aware citizens, embodying values such as compassion and humility."
Highlighting the impact of the NEP on India's education and skill ecosystem, Pradhan expressed eagerness to share the country's experiences with partner nations. Emphasising the collaborative nature of addressing challenges, he remarked, "No country can solve any problem or achieve goals on its own. We must act on shared aspirations, devise common strategies, built on the twin pillar of education and skill development. India's experience can serve as an example in this regard.”
