The Union Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, has signed a formal agreement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmad Al Falasi, in Abu Dhabi. This agreement is aimed at enhancing the collaboration in the education sector between the two countries.
The Ministers have signed this agreement to bolster their ongoing cooperation in education. It will make it easier for students and teachers to move between the two countries and promote various educational initiatives. The agreement also focuses on joint research projects, curriculum development, and participation in educational events and exhibitions of mutual interest.
Mr. Pradhan visited a school called "42 Abu Dhabi," which specializes in innovative learning approaches. He is currently on a three-day visit to the UAE.
During the discussions, they talked about frameworks and policies related to general and higher education, including the recognition of qualifications between the two nations. This agreement will also promote policies in areas such as nurturing gifted and talented individuals, skill development, counseling, and well-being.
Furthermore, the agreement will encourage academic collaboration between higher education institutions in both countries, offering joint degree programs. It also includes plans for enhancing the skills of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) teaching staff.
The creation of a Joint Working Group chaired by representatives from India and the UAE is part of this agreement. This group will meet regularly to assess the implementation of the agreement.
Mr. Pradhan emphasized the importance of building a "knowledge bridge" between the UAE and India, given the UAE's economic significance and India's talent pool. Both Ministers are committed to improving the institutional mechanisms and simplifying processes for the smooth movement of students and workers.
Mr. Pradhan also expressed his gratitude for the support provided to schools in the UAE that follow the Indian curriculum. They also discussed ways to facilitate student exchange programs between India and the UAE.
