CBSE Announces Teacher Eligibility Test Examination Timetable

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has unveiled the schedule for the 18th edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). The exam is set to take place on January 21, 2024. Individuals interested in participating can register for the exam on the official CTET website. The application deadline is November 23, 2023, and the fees must be paid by that same date before 11:59 pm.

This test will be conducted in 20 different languages across 135 cities nationwide. The board has stated in an official release that a comprehensive information bulletin containing details on the exam, syllabus, languages, eligibility criteria, examination fees, test locations, and important dates will soon be available on the CTET official website. Prospective candidates are encouraged to download this information bulletin from the mentioned website and carefully review it before applying.

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) serves as the minimum qualification required for an individual to be eligible for teaching positions from class 1 to 8. The examination is administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education in Delhi.

The official CTET website emphasizes that, as per the provisions of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for teaching positions in schools mentioned in Clause (n) of section 2 is to pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), which is conducted by the relevant Government following the guidelines set by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
